The Ultimate Cruise Packing Checklist
Booking your cruise can certainly be a tricky task as there are many options but packing for a cruise can surely be easy with this blog. I have been on 8 cruises around the world, so far! After all the overpacking, under packing and forgetting experiences, I have made this ultimate checklist for you to make it very easy.

Important things to consider before packing
- The weather- This point is important because the temperature of your destinations you are visiting will determine your clothing choices.
- The religious requirement of clothing
- Check on cruise site for any specific occasion or dress code for any event.
The checklist
- Documents - Passports, Visa, Tickets, Photographs. Keep a soft copy in your Email as well.
- Check for the visa requirements if you are going to visit multiple ports or countries.
- Travel Adapter and voltage converter - For cameras, phones or any other devices, the converter is very much necessary
- Medications - This, not just cruise travel packing list, this can be applicable to all those who are traveling. I am a frequent traveler. I have seen many people spoiling their trip by forgetting their basic medications. As when you are traveling to a different country, the medicines are not available easily. If this is your first cruise, make sure you take motion sickness medication. You never know how your body will react and it is always better to go prepared.
- Take Sunscreen. You will be exposed to the sun As you are going to be on a boat. How much time you spend up on deck is your choice but it is always great to be prepared. Also take an Aloe Vera gel also.
- Take Toiletries. Some cruises do have shampoo, conditioner and soaps arranged in your bathroom. It is better to check with your cruise line before packing these items.
- Equipment for grooming like Curling iron, flat iron, clips, hats and all the accessories you use to style your hair. You will get ample of opportunities to get clicked.
- Make sure you have at least 1 comfortable pair of walking shoes. Take a few pairs of shoes for different occasions. If you want to dress up for dinner or cocktails, or if you plan to lounge by the pool or beach, take at least 3 types of the pair of shoes.
- Take a reusable water bottle. You can refill your water bottle in your room and in dining areas. It is really great to take on and off the board as well as a way to reduce the use of single-use plastics.
- Take your favorite book for reading on the deck on sea days.
- Clothing for special occasions. Check with your cruise line to see if they offer some special events or occasions. If you wish to take full advantage and enjoy all luxuries of your cruise, the best way is to prepare in advance.
=> When traveling on the cruise, always make sure to pack basic items and then the rest of your clothes should be based on whether of destination.
- Comfortable pajamas, footwear
- At least one classy outfit for a dressy evening
- Fitness wear if you want to work out on board or take a class
- Take some cash. Many times in ports you will find some great souvenirs or if you want to grab a coffee, need a taxi, etc. There are many places in the world where cash is the currency, so have cash on hand.
- Take your Cam. You will find a lot of time on board. To get ready, to pose and to explore. Take the best camera of yours and seize best memories.

What is not needed:
- Cruises are designed to keep people fed and there are tons of variety with some superb chefs. Food is just not required on Cruise.
- Too many outfits. Rooms are quite small compared to the hotel, also you will certainly waste a lot of time on dressing if you are carrying a lot.
- Prohibited items - Check with cruise, as they have many items prohibited due to security issues like drones, weapons etc.
