Rann Utsav, Kutch, Gujarat All You Need To Know About The Festival
Gujarat is a land of colors. It is India’s most advanced state in terms of development. The people of Gujarat are very popular for their hospitality, sense of business and tasty cuisine. It’s handicrafts, arts, festivals, and hospitality make the state rich. All the festivals of Gujarat are must be celebrated and enjoyed. I would like to brief Rann Utsav on this blog.

Rann Utsav - the tent village, is a place straight out of
your dreams. After crossing Bhuj there are welcome guiding pillars directing
you to the destination. Slowly the landscape changes from barren land to small
resorts on either side. Then there is huge gate right in front of you,
promising something grand and majestic. the entire city is self-contained with
precisely organized and well-placed dining halls, entertainment activities etc.
Rann Utsav has the best time of visit in December-January,
as the environment is calm and cold. Desert with thin sand dunes, paragliding,
the white desert, various sports, food, tents, campfire, makes this the place
utmost beautiful for travelers of every kind.
Many people prefer Full moon night, I did not take that one
though as it was coming very costly to my pocket. Generally, weekends are all
booked, but there are too many tent cities build having different management.
You may get reviews easily.
The food :
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner everything included package is
best, as they serve a huge variety of food. You can sure adjust something to
fill your stomach with. Do not expect a 5 - star continental breakfast, it is
going to be a cultural serving. They offer food from Chinese to Punjabi and
everything. People of Gujarat, I found very soft and easy. One fellow tourist
was Gujarati and he told me that they have a punch line “Atithi Devo bhava”
which means guests are like gods. I could feel that in their hospitality.
Though I am an Indian by heart I have been staying in the United States for
around 33 years. But I really found it easy to adjust to the food. But don’t
expect authentic continental food.

The Culture :
You will find the effect of culture everywhere. They
organize a cultural dance at nights, the variety of food, the clothes they
wear. These many colors, I have not seen in my life and here, I saw them in
just one day. I was surprised when I came to know that they don’t serve buffet.
They make us sit like a royal king and serve the dinner. Their language is also
so loving and soft that you will instantly fall in love with this place.
The must do’s :
1. If you can afford full moon night, then please go for
that. They have special night tour that day which can turn out to be a great
experience.
2. The white rain is amazing, take as many pictures as you
can.
3. Go for a desert safari in morning. The camp organizers
will organize that for you.
4. Visit art and handicraft bazaar
5. The Kalo Dungar is the highest peak in that area. It is
the perfect spot to see the whole of Rann with a panoramic view.
6. Try Paragliding and other adventure sports.
I would like to end with the lines of Mr. Amitabh Bachhan -
Bollywood Legend “Yahan khushboo hai kalakari ki, sangeet ki, Utsav ki..yahan
khushboo hai Gujarat ki! “. Which means there is art, music, culture, heritage,
dance, colors, festivals..you will find a glimpse of Gujarat here!
