Best Travel Tips from my 12 years travel experience!
I am travel freak and Pkt Tours know that they have planned the best trips for me. Experience matters, Travel is full of major decisions, but it's the little things that can make a trip easier and less stressful. These are the best travel tips I’ve discovered along the way.

1. Have Patience
Life is much too short to be angry & annoyed all the
time. Don’t worry if you woke up late and missed the stuff or the hotel
reservation was not done properly. Always remember you are traveling this
place, it is not a permanent problem. Don’t get annoyed and spoil the rest of
the day. If you missed the bus, take an unplanned road trip over to the next town
and explore. Sometimes freakouts happen regardless.
2. Wake Up Early
The best and the most important advice, Wake early. Most of
us, when traveling we get ready little late considering a holiday and go at a
slow pace. But you have to remember that the place you are visiting is for the
first time and you may not get chance to visit the same place again in your
lifetime. So make maximum use of time. If you are visiting a place which has a
quite good tourist footfall, then visiting them early in the morning will
benefit you with less crowd.
3. Leave a copy of
your passport.
For extra backup, leave a copy of your passport at home or
with someone you trust. In any country, your only identity is the passport.
When you travel out, any time you may need the passport. Or someone near you
may want to contact you, which can only be processed via passport. Consider
making an electronic copy you can store in your email account as well.
4. Keep Extra Cash
I recommend at least a couple hundred dollars to keep extra.
If you lose your wallet, your card stops working, or the ATMs run out of money,
you’ll be glad you kept some cash for your emergency. Some of my favorite spots
include socks, under shoe inserts, a toiletry bag or sewn in one of my pants.
5. Check the voltage of your electronics
From my own experience, I know that nothing is worse than
having an adapter and still not being able to use a mobile phone or any other
electronic device because the voltage isn’t high enough for that country. It’s
also important to make the arrangement of the converter as different countries
have different plugs.
6. Take A Scarf
This simple piece of cotton cloth is one of my most useful
travel accessories with many different practical applications. Keeping a scarf
in the purse may seem weird on the first go but this small thing can be
helpful. It’s great for sun protection, a makeshift towel, carrying stuff
around, an eye mask, and much more.
7. Check-in with your doctor and insurance carrier.
Double check and make sure that you have all of the proper
vaccinations and that you have renewed all essential prescriptions. You may
also take some medicines for common problems like a cough, fever, cold,
allergy. In some countries, they may not give the medicine without the
prescription.
8. Back Everything Up
When my laptop computer was stolen in Pattaya, Thailand, I
understood the importance of the backup files of my documents and everything.
Keep both digital and physical copies of your passport, visas, driver’s
license, birth certificate, health insurance card, serial numbers, and
important phone numbers ready to go in case of an emergency. Can be stored in a
digital locker or anywhere.
9. Take down memories but don’t forget to enjoy
You may only see these places & meet these people once
in your lifetime. Remember them forever with plenty of photos. Don’t worry
about looking like a “tourist” It is important to enjoy the place for sure, but
it is equally important to take all the photos and videos of places and people.
Great photos are the ultimate souvenir.
10. Find the way out
Nothing is impossible. If you are having trouble going
somewhere or doing something, don’t give up. You just haven’t found the best
solution or met the right person yet. Don’t listen to those who say it can’t be
done.
11. Eat Local Food
Think you already know what Mexican food tastes like? You’re
probably wrong. Taste a bit of everything when you travel, especially if you
don’t know what it is. Ask local people for recommendations. Eat street food
from vendors with big lines out front.
12. Break Out Of Your Comfort Zone
Challenge yourself to try things that normally give you
anxiety. The more you do this, the more that anxiety will fade away. Not a
hiker? Go on more hikes. Have trouble talking to strangers? Talk to everyone.
Scared of weird food? Eat the weirdest thing you can find.
13. Look up the monetary conversion before you go.
You will need to convert your money. So before you visit
that place you should check the conversion to local currency. Make sure you do
your math before you travel to get a sense of where the conversion rate is at.
It may sound stupid to think about these small things while
traveling, but these small things only can make your day too bad if not found
proper. Precaution is always better!
