The region is varied as ever with lofty rocks, rolling sand dunes, burning heat and freezing cold, fertile plains and deep wild glens and jungles. Elegant monuments, camel and elephant safari's in the desert, lush green forest and wild life and more over the colorful and mesmerizing life of Rajasthani folks make Rajasthan one of the finest tourist destinations of India. Rajasthan is also a land of arts and crafts. Creativeness of the Rajasthani people can be seeing even in their life style, dress and ornaments.
Arrive in Delhi this evening. You are met upon arrival and escorted to your hotel where you can get ready for your Golden Triangle tour.
Embark on the first of your India tours to explore both Old and New Delhi. Visit Old Delhi covering the Red Fort, Raj Ghat, Ashoka Pillar and the mile-long Chandni Chowk bazaar. In the afternoon tour New Delhi as you drive along Rajpath to view the Parliament House, the President’s House and India Gate. Visit the Humayun’s Tomb, Qutab Minar and Birla Temple. Akshardham Temple (B).
Depart by train to Ranthambhore or by road, the remains of a thousand year old fortress. Today leopards and tigers prowl the ruins. This afternoon enjoy your first game drive. (B)
Ranthambhore is one of the few preserves where the nocturnal camera-shy tigers may be seen in daylight. Almost hunted to extinction by the local royalty and their British overlords, the population of the Bengal tiger is slowly increasing, thanks to the efforts of “Project Tiger” and the World Wildlfe Fund. You’ll enjoy thrilling game drives in the morning and evening to scour the jungle for wildlife. (B)
After a morning game drive, leave for the “pink city” of Jaipur, where the old city is surrounded by a massive wall pierced by magnificent gateways. Your tour of Jaipur takes you to Hawa Mahal or “Palace of Winds,” continues to City Palace with its latticed balconies, tiny windows, cupolas, courtyards and arched entrances, and concludes with a visit to the ancient observatory. (B)
Visit the mountain fortress of Amber where you have a choice of ascending the fort, riding royally atop elegantly draped and painted elephants or by jeep. Amber is a superb example of Rajput architecture with its complex of palaces, temples and ornate apartments. The afternoon is at leisure. (B)
Drive this morning to Agra, en route visiting the abandoned city of Fatehpur Sikri. In Agra, visit the Agra Fort and enjoy the magnificent Taj Mahal in the warm glow of sunset. (B)
Conclude your India tour package with a drive to Delhi’s International airport for your flight back home. (B)
