After breakfast; drive to Lake Nakuru National Park where lunch will be served. Lake Nakuru National Park regarded by avid birders' as the greatest World ornithological spectacle on the Earth. The Park is famous for its millions of pink flamingoes lining on the lake shore, arriving in the afternoon at Lake Nakuru. The park is a Sanctuary to the Black Rhino, White Rhino and the Rothschild Giraffe. Bird life include common species like the lesser and Greater Flamingoes, African fish Eagle, Tawny Eagle, Green Wood Hoopoes, Cliff Chat, Great White and Pink Backed Pelicans plus other intra- African Migrants. Have an early breakfast, check out, and proceed to Masai Mara. A pleasant drive across the dramatic Great Rift Valley brings you through Narok Township, (a major Masai administrative centre) to one of the stellar events of your safari – Masai Mara, Kenya’s most precious wildlife sanctuary. The jewel in Africa’s crown, Masai Mara is host to the most spectacular array of wildlife. Her 320 square kilometers of open savannah, woodlands and tree-lined rivers create an eco-system which supports huge numbers of bird and mammal species.
Lions are found in abundance throughout the park as are elephant, giraffe, a variety of gazelle species, and zebra. Cheetah and leopard are also regularly seen and, if lucky, you may also find rhino. Game viewing is never dull in the Mara, and patience is often rewarded with unique sightings: a pride of lion stalking their prey; a solitary leopard retrieving its kill from the high branches of an acacia tree; male wildebeest sparring to attract females into their harem; or even a herd of elephant protecting their young from opportunistic predators.
The Masai Mara is home to many members of the colorful Masai tribe, who may be seen around the borders of the park – morans (warriors) loping across the plains, young boys herding goats, or elders grouped under a tree discussing the matters of the day. Early in the morning, set out on an exciting game-drive to view the teeming wildlife savouring their morning kills. Drive around to search for the myriad species of game that make this reserve their home. If you are lucky, you can witness a kill in action, moment by moment, right in front of your unbelieving eyes! Return to your lodge in time for breakfast. Later, enjoy the stunning surroundings and enjoy time at leisure. After a sumptuous breakfast, drive to Nairobi International Airport for your flight to Cape Town, South Africa. Arrive in the Mother City and depart on a private road transfer to your hotel. Arrive at the hotel and check in. Your evening is free for you to enjoy at leisure. [B,L]
Breakfast will be served at the hotel. Afterwards, commence a tour of the city. Take the cable car to the top of Table Mountain (weather and time permitting) for a panoramic view of the city and coastline. Then travel through the historic Malay Quarter, past the South African Museum, with its famed Bushmen exhibits, the Castle, and other interesting sights. Towards the end of the morning, visit the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront. This is South Africa's most talked about tourist venue with many shops and restaurants. The evening is free at leisure. Breakfast will be served at the hotel. Today we flank the cold Atlantic Ocean en route to Hout Bay. Once a fishing community, it is now one of the most popular residential areas, and the harbour still has a charm of days gone by. Enjoy a half-hour cruise to "Seal Island” or for the not so adventurous the fish market "Mariners Wharf" is a must. Continue alongside the Indian Ocean, and stop to see the Jackass penguin colony, which has become well established, at Boulders beach near Simonstown. Then we travel onwards until we reach Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope. Said to be the romantic meeting place of the two mighty oceans, the Atlantic and the Indian, Sir Francis Drake the Explorer once called it "the fairest Cape that we saw in the whole circumference of the Globe”. And rightly so, it must be the highlight of any visit to the Mother City, if not South Africa. Take a tour of Robben Island. Our last stop of the day is at the Kirstenbosch Botanical gardens, home of some 3,500 species of Southern African fauna and flora. The evening is free at leisure. [B,L,D]
After breakfast at the hotel, check out and proceed to Oudtshoorn in the little Karoo. Today, visit the Cango Caves, internationally renowned as one of the world’s great natural wonders sculpted by nature through the ages, their fascinating limestone formations occur in a variety of ways. Later, visit the Highgate Ostrich Ranch. Here, come face to face with the biggest bird in the world. After lunch, visit the Cheetah and crocodile farm (Cango Wildlife Ranch) where over 300 crocodiles, ranging from 50 cm to four metres in length, inhabit the ranch. Enjoy dinner in the evening. After an breakfast at the hotel, proceed to Knysna. En route visit the town of Mossel Bay for an orientation tour and a visit to the famous Post Office Tree. Enjoy an Indian lunch. Other interesting places includes the traditional herbalist shop, the historical buildings downtown Johannesburg, the Brixton Tower, the affluent suburb of Houghton, the Supreme Court and the Nelson Mandela bridge— home of South Africa's new Constitutional Court and site of Johannesburg’s Old Fort Prison.
