A final morning exploring the city that was the navel of the Inca world. Climb to Sacsayhuamán, a vast ceremonial fortress of stones up to four metres high, fitted with a precision that still defies explanation. Continue to Q'enqo, a temple of the puma carved from living rock, and Tambomachay, the sacred fountains still fed by their original channels, pausing at Puca Pucara, the red watchtower.
