After breakfast proceed to Anuradhapura for a sightseeing tour. Anuradhapura A UNESCO World Heritage Site located in the north central part of the Island was the first capital (5th century BC - 9th century AD), the center of the island's Buddhist civilization and undoubtedly the grandest city of ancient Sri Lanka. In antiquity and the interest, it is the equal of any ancient 'buried city' in the world. The oldest historically documented tree on earth (over 2,200 years old) - The Sri Maha Bodhi, brought as a sampling of the tree under which the Buddha attained enlightenment, and the island's oldest Buddhist shrines - some dating back to the 3rd century BC, impressive white 'dagabas' (relic chambers) and monuments embellished with handsome stone carvings or sculpture, pleasure gardens, beautifully executed stone baths and ponds and a superb irrigation system of reservoirs and canals are the main attractions of Anuradhapura. Specific places to visit are - the Brazen Palace (2nd century B.C.), with 1600 significant stone columns are the remains of a magnificent multi-storied residence for monks – an engineering marvel at the time, Ruwanweli Seya (2nd century B.C) the most famous of all the dagoba’s, originally depicted the perfect. After breakfast proceed to Trincomalee and visit the Mihintale Temple, Koneswaran Temple and Fort Fedrick. Mihintale Temple. The cradle of Buddhism in Sri Lanka! Mihintale Temple is rather a temple complex of ruins and shrines scattered over a large mountain area connected by some 1840 steps that ultimately lead to the top. After breakfast, proceed to Dambulla. By evening visit the Sigiriya Rock and go for a village trek. Sigiriya This UNESCO World Heritage Site, a spectacular Rock Fortress, is one of Sri Lanka’s major attractions. The most impressive facets of the unique complex are the Water Gardens, the Frescoes of beautiful maidens, the Mirror Wall with ancient graffiti, the Lion platform and the Summit of 1.6 hectares, which was completely covered by buildings during the period of Sigiriya’s glory. Built by King Kashyapa (477-495 A.D), the “Lion Rock” is a citadel of unusual beauty rising 200m from the scrub jungle. Village Trek Trek through this archetypal Sri Lankan village. The trek begins with a scenic walk along a bund of a Wewa (man-made reservoir). The amazing birdlife, butterflies and possible sightings of crocodiles only add to the charm of the trek. Sight the villagers as they go about their early morning tasks of fishing or washing clothes at the periphery of the lake. Initially one wades through a shallow stream and thereafter crosses a wider tributary in a catamaran of an obliging farmer to inspect Chena cultivation (slash and burn agriculture) Enjoy the farmer's humble hospitality. With the guidance of the farmer, pick some fresh vegetables from the plot. Transfer back to the hotel.

Breakfast at the hotel and proceed to Kandy. En route visit the spice garden and by evening visit the temple of tooth relic and witness the culture dance. Spice Garden the Island had been famous for its spices since the medieval times and is considered as one of the main reasons for the Europeans to conquer the Island and for the Arabs to trade upon from the 14th century onwards. A qualified guide will conduct a tour of the garden and a presentation of its products. Check in at the hotel. In the evening conduct a sightseeing tour of Kandy. Visit a Batik Factory, a Gem Museum and a visit to the Kandy “Tooth Relic Temple’. Temple of Tooth Relic A lovely exotic city, the Hill Capital and last stronghold of the Sinhala Kings is a UNESCO World Heritage Site which retains an aura of grandeur, time has not affected. Encircled by hills, with a tranquil lake in its centre, it is the site of the renowned temple that enshrines the Tooth Relic of the Buddha and the Royal Botanical gardens – home to one of the world’s best collections of Orchids. Transfer back to the hotel.

After breakfast proceed to Ella and enroute go in a scenic train ride and visit the nine-arch bridge and little adams peak by evening. Nine arch Bridge It is in Demodara, between Ella and Demodara railway stations. The surrounding area has seen a steady increase in tourism due to the bridge's architectural ingenuity and the profuse greenery in the nearby hillsides. Little Adams Peak the Little Adam`s Peak got it`s named after it`s big brother, the holy mountain Adam`s Peak, because of the similar shape. Adam`s Peak is further west in Sri Lanka, close to Nuwara Eliya, and is 2243 m high and a much more exhausting and more challenging climb! The mountain has however three names; Adam`s Peak (this is where Adam first set foot on earth after being cast out of heaven), Sri Pada (Buddha`s footprint left by the Buddha as he headed towards paradise) and Samanalakande (Butterfly Mountain, where butterflies go to die). We had plans of climbing Big Adam`s Peak, but Espen hurt his knee, so we settled for the “little brother” instead. Transfer back to the hotel.

After Breakfast at the hotel proceed to Galle and en route visit the Lipton seat and galle fort and by evening go for Turtle Hatchery. The Lipton Seat the Lipton’s Seat lookout is one of Sri Lanka's most impressive viewpoints. Lipton's Seat, the famous viewpoint where Sir Thomas Lipton used to sit and contemplate his plantation with its stony landscape and green tea bushes. Turtle Hatchery the Turtle Hatchery Project at Bentota Beach is another important attraction. Up to five endangered species of turtles have been frequenting stretches on this undisturbed beach for a long time now. The turtles are allowed to hatch and thrive in a protected area before being set free. Check-in to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
