Book in advance
If you are planning your luxurious vacation to Venice, the best thing you can do is the plan in advance. The accommodation, sightseeing, and every other thing. Venice is a year-round tourist destination, so once you visit and if you have not booked anything, locals know that you are the tourist. It is an expensive destination - I would rather say overpriced.
Stay
Choose your stay wisely, considering high prices of ferry and gondolas. If your hotel is too far away from all the popular attractions then you will have to spend a lot on travel. Consider price, noise, and accessibility.
Visit in low season
As I have mentioned earlier, this is a favorite destination for tourists around the world. If you can plan and visit it in the low season then you just don’t have to worry about the crowd at all. If at all you can not plan in low season, get skip the line tickets to major points of interest. It’s only a few penny more, but it can save you a lot of time and frustration.

Don’t take Gondola, take a local boat
There’s no arguing over the price unless you pre-booked your gondola online, then it’s cheaper and it will save your time from bargaining. The gondola ride is a little expensive so you can also take a local boat. It looks like a gondola, but costs next to nothing.
Try beach at Lido
Burano used to be a great local spot but after it became instafame, it is flooded with people all the time. Beach at Lido is a historic, picturesque beach. You can rent a bike and enjoy the sun the whole day.
Behind the Scene tours are good
Visit the Basilica of San Marco. You can also explore the catacombs. You can take a tour from the locals. 2 common problems you will face here is price and crowd.
Protect Your Valuables
I am not saying it is unsafe. But it has its own share of petty crime like pickpocketing. Losing your wallet, camera or your travel bag when you were enjoying the sights or battling the crowds is the common thing here and it can completely ruin your vacation. So better keep it safe at the hotel.
Prepare yourself one day before
As it is very much crowded it is best to prepare before one day. If you know the list of places you are going to visit next day then get yourself ready by taking reviews from fellow travelers. Sometimes reaching the place before it opens turns out to be a great time-saver.
